AT&T’s IT CAN WAIT tour will stop in Fredericksburg to remind Virginians to keep their eyes on the road, not on their phones. The stop is among 300 taking place nationwide this year.
The virtual reality experience will be set up on July 1, 2017, from noon until 4 p.m. at the AT&T store located at 1601 Carl D. Silver Parkway in Fredericksburg. Visitors will be able to safely experience what happens if they look at or use smartphones while driving.
People can also use their own smartphone to view the 360° experience at home using Google cardboard or Oculus VR Goggles.
IT CAN WAIT is a national movement urging drivers to keep their eyes on the road, not on their phones — distracted driving is never OK. The campaign began with a focus on not texting and driving. It has now expanded to the broader dangers of smartphone use behind the wheel.
