AT&T Supports Ronald McDonald House in New Brunswick with Funding & Volunteer Hours

$5,000 and more than 300 hours of volunteer time contributed this year

AT&T employees from Bedminster, Piscataway and Middletown who are members of the AT&T Pioneers on December 13 spread holiday cheer at the Ronald McDonald House (RMH) in New Brunswick, cooking dinner for the residents of the house and delivering a $5,000 contribution from AT&T as part of the company’s AT&T Cares initiative.

“It's wonderful to make a difference, one person at a time, in the communities where we live and work,” said Sandy Seidorf, Pioneers Project Committee chairperson and an AT&T employee in Bedminster who nominated RHM for the contribution. “Many of us will be at RMH to serve Christmas Eve Brunch, and we have already scheduled monthly meals for 2018.”

Other AT&T volunteers who volunteered at this event included project leader - Tracy Palumbo, Theresa Pisciotti, Michael Hickey, Lisa Cremone, Gail Underwood, Guiseppe Coppola and Patricia Liska.

Ms. Seidorf also added, “The house provides a tranquil place for families to live while their child is getting treatments. This project has an even bigger reach, as it helps the families and their extended families have peace of mind. It gives them a place to rest, regroup and be close to their loved ones - and supports our both the Pioneers and AT&T’s goal to give back in the communities where we live and work. A true spirit of giving!”

For the past 2 years, the Liberty Garden Pioneers Chapter has supported the Ronald McDonald Caring Cooks program providing nutritious meals for families whose children are receiving medical treatment at Robert Wood Johnson Children’s Hospital and St. Peter’s Hospital. In 2017, the AT&T team hosted 10 meals for the families staying at the house in February, April, May, June, August, September, October, November and December. The volunteers plan the menu, shop for the food, cook the meal, bake cookies with the kids, and clean the kitchen afterwards. Eight AT&T volunteers participate in each meal.

This year, through nominations by AT&T Pioneer chapters, Employee Resource Groups and international regions, AT&T plans to contribute $255,000 to charities around the world.
