AT&T Employees Help Veterans in Hampton Roads

Believe Hampton Roads

AT&T employees in Hampton Roads on November 14 teamed up with two local organizations that are helping homeless veterans get the support they need - Veterans Kitchen, Inc. and Vetshouse, Inc.

As part of a project called Believe Hampton RoadsSM, which combines the commitment of employees and resources from the company to make a positive impact in the community, volunteers from AT&T participated in events with each organization.

The first event was at Veterans Kitchen, where volunteers helped prepare food bags for homeless veterans transitioning to housing.  Later in the day, AT&T volunteers visited Vets House where they helped in the facility’s garden and with other tasks.

Veterans Kitchen, Inc. works to end homelessness among veterans and provide them with the tools they need to live a healthy and stable life.

Vetshouse, Inc. is a unique nonprofit organization serving homeless veterans in Hampton Roads. It is not a shelter, but a 12-month program providing contemporary living quarters in a group environment, assistance in job hunting, transportation, personal skills and development guidance.

“Our employees are compassionate people with big hearts.  They regularly give their time, talent, and personal financial resources to help their friends, neighbors and communities. Through Believe Hampton Roads, we’re able lend a hand to two great organizations that help those who’ve served our country,” said Vince Apruzzese, president, AT&T Virginia.

AT&T BelievesSM supports local efforts to improve communities across the U.S., including Hampton Roads and Lebanon, Virginia, and the Washington, DC metro area.
